Its difficult to believe I am the first to review this product. However this thermostat is difficult to program and seams to defy reason, when in heat mode and should be using the compressor unit outside to produce heat, it instead will be making expensive heat with AUX electric heat. I will probably dump this thing and get one I can understand how to use effectively.

If you have electric baseboard heat and are looking for a premium product this seems to be pretty much the only game in town. It looks about as good as a baseboard heater can do and exudes quality. The thing weighs about ten times a regular heater of similar size so holds heat much better - though ultimately you are buying this for looks not performance. Installed the ecobee 3 a few days ago, no problems at all with self install. The system is up and running and the remote sensor works properly in determining room occupancy and temp. range. Nothing wrong yet, the ecobee 3 does everything for you, just set it up and go. O and the Wi-Fi set-up was flawless too. This was the easiest product to use so far in 2015. Now lets see what it does for my gas bill...........if like everything else it will be great too.

After waiting 26 days to get my Effinity 93 110000 btu unit, I installed it only to find out the propeller fan was very noisy. It is louder than my air compressor. Modine will not honor the warranty unless you use a professional installer. If you are a do it yourselfer, don't buy this unit. The propeller motor is cheap and creates a lot of vibration noise. Even if the motor was replaced under warranty, it would still be the same noisy motor. If you want to be able to talk in the vicinity... more
