I have used these before on a 2nd floor. Really was looking for something to put tile on rather than a mortar base. These are great, east to cut, easy to put down fabric and then tile using unmodified thinset. It's been several years and still looks good, water drains well.

Love this unit! Installed in the fall, it cools well yet can put out satisfyingly uncomfortable amounts of heat when it's 20F outside and throttles down very low to match demand. Thermostat is rather unintuitive to use all its features and you have only one set of temps in auto mode, but if you don't mind switching from heat mode to cool mode yourself you can program it any way you like. I waited for two months to write this review. Iowa Cold, but not on the feet. I put in radiant tubing inside of concrete flooring of 800 sq ft with kitchen on another 150 not with radiant in an "apt." for my daughter. I can't tell you how nice it feels immediately upon entering. It is a different feel to the warmth. At our home, we have a furnace we set at 68 - 72 depending on what time of day(programmable) and it never feels warm. At my daughters it is set at 67 degrees... more
