The unit tends to leak through pinholes which are due to impurity of copper tube material from cheap production country. The oil, a part of Freon makes most plastics parts brittle and replace indoor unit. This situation is a subject of recall, however, the company avoids ruining the company name offering free replacement parts for long period. I have repair three pin holes in one indoor unit. I recommend that you speak to a phone rep before placing your order. I didn't and fell into a sticky situation. In order to secure the full 15 year warranty om the product, you must check the cable for leakage to ground through the insulation of the wires. Leakage will cause the GFCI in the circuit to shut the heating cable off and render it useless. You must use a megaohmeter capable of sending a 1000 Volt pulse through the wire and capable of reading a 1000 megaohm result. These meters,if... more

This little heater does a wonderful job of keeping my two car garage nice and warm all winter long. I use my garage for a man-cave workshop in addition to parking my vehicles. I purchased this one because 15 years ago I purchased an ADP similar model. Well, after 15 well used years of 247 running, the board went out. So, instead of replacing the board I opted to replace the unit with another ADP. I don't think you can ask for many more trouble free years from any heater.
